Woman dies under suspicious circumstances, FIR against husband

Hisar: A newly married woman died under suspicious circumstances in Bass Khurd village near Hansi, Hisar district. Preliminary inquiries revealed that there were serious injuries on 25-year-old Kiran's head and legs, deepening suspicion around the incident. Earlier, police had sent the boy to Hansi civil hospital. Kiran's parents, residents of Barka village in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, reached Hansi. After viewing the body in the mortuary, they alleged that Kiran was murdered. In their statement to police, they claimed she was repeatedly harassed over dowry since her marriage.Vyas, the brother of deceased, said Kiran married Vikas of Bass Khurd about eight months ago. Soon after, disputes over dowry allegedly escalated, and Vikas frequently assaulted her. The family alleged that Vikas brutally beat Kiran on Nov 26, causing fatal injuries. Based on the complaint, Bass police station registered a dowry murder case against Vikas. Speaking to media, Bass police station in-charge Balwan Singh said clarity will come after the postmortem. He added all angles are being investigated seriously and action is being taken against the accused.
